Contact support

SpendLane is made by an independent developer in India. Questions, bug reports, feedback and privacy requests all reach the same place.

Reporting a problem

It helps to include your SpendLane version, your device model, your operating system version, and a description of what happened. Please avoid including financial information unless it is necessary to explain the issue.

Your data

SpendLane keeps your financial records on your device rather than on a server, so there is no copy here to look up. Exporting, backing up and deleting your information are all done in the app, under Settings, Data & Backup. Full backups, CSV and Excel exports are available on the free plan.

Purchases and subscriptions

Payments, refunds and cancellations are handled by the App Store or Google Play. For those, the support and account-management options in the relevant store can act where we cannot.

Before you email

These answer most of what reaches us. The rest of the questions are answered in the app, under Settings, Help.

Premium is missing after a reinstall
A purchase belongs to your store account, not to the phone. Sign in to the same account, open the upgrade screen in SpendLane and tap Restore Purchases.
Cancelling Premium
Cancel in the store, not in the app: Settings, your name, Subscriptions on iOS, or Play Store, Payments and subscriptions on Android. You keep Premium until the period you already paid for ends. Nothing you created is deleted when it does.
Refunds
The store that took the payment is the one that can return it. For the App Store, use reportaproblem.apple.com. SpendLane never holds your money, so it cannot issue a refund itself.
Back up before you uninstall
Your records live on the device, so removing the app removes them with it. Nothing is kept elsewhere to restore from. Export a backup first, under Settings, Data and Backup.
A backup will not restore
A backup can only be restored when its currency matches the base currency of the app you are restoring into. Restoring also offers Replace all, which overwrites what is there, and Merge, which keeps both.
A protected export will not open
Password-protected exports use AES-256, which the built-in unzip on Windows and macOS cannot read. Open them with 7-Zip, Keka or WinRAR. A lost export password cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
